Our Journey
2019 – Santa Monica
New to California with just a dream to grow, we stumbled upon a blue truck with a “BIKE RENTALS HERE” sign — a gift from God. It was for sale by the previous owner, and after arriving in Santa Monica, we couldn’t stop thinking about how fun it would be to work, have fun, and rent bikes at the beach. So, in 2019, we took a leap of faith and bought the business. That decision planted the seed for what would eventually become Beachside Bikes. Back then, with just one location, we were proudly known as Ride It Baby Bikes.
2022 – Redondo Beach
After surviving COVID, a new opportunity from God was placed right at our doorstep. A local shop called Beachside Bikes was up for sale, and we felt called to keep growing. Expanding to Redondo Beach allowed us to stretch our reach from one end of the Marvin Braude Trail to the other. And now, with a storefront, we had the opportunity to expand our offerings to include repairs — transforming the shop into Beachside Bikes Rentals & Repairs.
2023 – Manhattan Beach
With two locations thriving, we felt inspired to keep growing. In summer of 2023, we brought our ‘Ride It Baby Bikes’ truck concept to Manhattan Beach. At first, things looked promising — the city issued our business license and we began operating. But just weeks later, the permit was unexpectedly revoked, leaving us stranded. Still, we trusted that God had a greater plan. A few months later, a local bike shop in Manhattan Beach became available, and we were in the right place at the right time. We stepped in, took the reins, and carried the shop forward — officially establishing our third location.
2026 - Marina Del Rey
After seven years of ups and downs, it became clear that we needed to stay committed to one vision: expanding Beachside Bikes and bringing an exceptional bike rental experience to as many beach communities as possible.
After knocking on countless doors and working through numerous negotiations, we found a community that was looking for exactly what we could provide. Fisherman’s Village in Marina del Rey needed a bike shop that could help revitalize the area while giving both tourists and locals a true, full-service bike shop experience.
For us, it was the perfect location. Marina del Rey creates a natural connection between our South Bay locations and Santa Monica, while strengthening our presence along the beautiful Marvin Braude Bike Trail.
